About Us

We are a community center that welcomes all, meets the needs of individuals and addresses root cause problems ?in the Lima community

Mission: To provide social, educational, health and recreational programs that address the needs of the Lima community.
?
istory: In 1933, a special committee was formed in Lima, Ohio to promote recreation and social opportunities for black citizens who otherwise would have no access to programs and activities that encouraged personal development and growth. On July 3, 1938 the Bradfield Community Assoc. was officially formed and named after the late Dr. J. C. Bradfield, a World War I veteran and physician at both St. Rita’s and Memorial Hospitals in Lima. The Association’s original community center was located at 321 South West Street. However, this facility was soon found to be overcrowded and inadequate. In 1949, through the diligent efforts of local citizens including Dr. A. A. Dalton, the new Bradfield Community Center opened its doors at our present location. Today, the Bradfield Community Association/Center is an all-inclusive organization that continues to fulfill the dreams of our early founders. s we move forward, our efforts will focus on Health, Education and Youth Development
